Who Chore Team is designed for
Chore Team is a household planner for couples and flatmates. The age ratings currently assigned by Apple are 12+ in Vietnam, A12 in Brazil, 12+ in the Republic of Korea, and 13+ elsewhere.
The feature declared in the age-rating questionnaire is recurring competition: members earn points for household tasks and appear in a ranked scoreboard. These ratings do not mean Chore Team contains violence, sexual content, or gambling. The rating shown by Apple in your region remains the applicable store rating.
Points and friendly competition
In practice, “competition” means earning a few points for wiping the kitchen counter, taking out the recycling, or watering plants. Weekly, monthly, yearly, and all-time scoreboards show the household’s contributions. There are no matches against strangers or public rankings.
Points have no monetary value. There is no betting, simulated gambling, paid entry, loot box, prize, or cash payout. Chore Team is free, with no advertising, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
The aim is to recognise shared effort. A household can use the task planner without opening the scoreboard; using the app does not require treating chores as a contest.
Content comes from your household
Members enter profile names, room names, task titles, and notes. This content is shared within the household and is not automatically filtered for age suitability. Household members can edit it.
There is no public feed, search for strangers, direct messaging, photo uploads, advertising, or built-in web browser for unrestricted browsing. Invitation links can still be forwarded to other people.
A link gives household access
Anyone with a current invitation can choose any household profile. Profiles do not verify identity or age. Every member has equal management rights; there is no parent-only or child account role.
If a younger person uses the app, an adult should review the tasks, who has access, and what information is entered. Share the link only with trusted people. Avoid putting sensitive information into shared notes.
Adults should choose tasks appropriate to the person’s age and abilities, especially where cleaning products, tools, or appliances are involved. Points should not encourage someone to take on an unsafe task.
Controls and limitations
Chore Team has no age verification, parental approval flow, in-app content filter, or time limit. iOS offers device-level Screen Time and parental controls. In Chore Team, household members can replace invitations and revoke device access.
For younger household members, the practical questions are whether the tasks are suitable and whether the people sharing the household are trusted. Parents or guardians should decide together with them how to use the app and follow applicable local requirements. A store content rating is not a judgement about whether helping at home is appropriate.
